Rookie David Gust scored two goals as the Condors started a five-game road trip on Tuesday with a 5-1 victory over the San Antonio Rampage.
The Condors (9-10-2) are 3-0-1 against the Rampage.
Gust, who was a healthy scratch in Bakersfield’s 2-1 loss to San Jose at home on Sunday, finished the game a plus-three rating, as did his linemates, Mitch Callahan and Kyle Platzer.
Callahan opened the scoring 12:57 into the first when he swept in the puck from right in front of the net off a pass from Keegan Lowe, who also ended the night plus-three.
Gust got his sixth of the season at 15:25 of the second when he sent a backhander past Villie Husso. He got his second of the night with 55 seconds left in the period when he banged in a rebound to put the Condors up 3-0.
Iiro Pakarinen scored a power play seven minutes into the third. Pakarinen, sent down from Edmonton on Saturday, also had a power-play goal on Sunday in his first game with the Condors this season.
The Rampage got a power play goal from Reid Petryk with 5:41 left.
Lowe got his first goal as a Condor off a rebound with 1:13 remaining.
Eddie Pasquale stopped 36 shots for the win.
