Five Bakersfield College wrestlers advanced to Saturday's semifinals of the CCCAA State Wrestling Championships at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton.

As expected, BC’s two 184-pounders Jeremy Mass and Adrian Godinez, who each had first-round byes on Friday, easily won quarterfinal matches. Mass took just 35 seconds to pin Leo Perez of Santa Ana and Godinez took a 10-3 decision over Issas Sillas of Sacramento City. Mass and Godinez will meet each other in the finals if they win semifinal matches.

Also reaching the semifinals were 133-pounder Pedro Corona with an 8-3 win over Zachry Moistner of Palomar, 149-pounder Emmett Kuntz with a 8-4 decision over Khalil Howard of Rio Hondo and 197-pounder Zavion Roberson, who pinned David Chavaria of Mt. SAC in 5:33.

BC is third overall in points.
