It's no secret that Cal State Bakersfield guard Damiyne Durham likes to shoot the ball. Head coach Rod Barnes has joked that if he told Durham not to shoot, Durham would probably shoot it anyway and apologize later.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Durham led all Division I players with 105 attempted 3-pointers in just 12 games. His 35 makes are 14th in the country and his 33.3 percent conversion rate from 3 is 166th among qualified players.

Durham's season highs are six makes and 14 attempts from 3, which he did in back-to-back losses to Central Michigan and UCLA, respectively.

He's coming off one of his best games of the season against Idaho on Saturday. Durham was 5-for-11 from beyond the arc and 7-for-15 overall.

"We just probably got to figure out how to have Dame like that all the time as far as intensity and how hard he played," Barnes said after Saturday's win over Idaho.

Durham is averaging a team-high 12.4 points per game while battling through a knee injury.

CSUB holding extended box office for basketball doubleheader

With a men's and women's basketball doubleheader on tap for Saturday, the Cal State Bakersfield athletics department is holding extended box office hours this week.

The CSUB athletics box office will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Friday. The men's team hosts Georgia Southern on Saturday at 2 p.m., while the women's game against Whittier College will follow at 4 p.m. at the Icardo Center.

Tickets purchased for the men's game grant admittance to the women's game for this Saturday's doubleheader only.

The CSUB men are looking for payback after falling at Georgia Southern by a score of 77-53 on Nov. 13 in the first leg of a home-and-home.

The CSUB women seek a bounce-back performance after a pair of road losses this past weekend.
