Condors in Iowa

Condors left wing Joey LaLeggia skates up ice against Iowa on Friday.

For the third straight game the Bakersfield Condors went to overtime, and on Friday it was Ethan Bear who was the hero in a 4-3 road win against the Iowa Wild.

Bear scored at the 2:16 mark of the overtime period to win the game for the Condors. Bakersfield never led until the overtime goal. The Condors are now three games over .500 (17-14-7-0) and have extended their road point streak to six games (4-0-2).

After falling behind 2-0 after the opening period, Bakersfield got second period goals from Brad Malone and Joe Gambardella to tie the score. It was the 11th goal of the season for Malone, which tied his AHL career high.

Iowa took a 3-2 lead to close out the second period before Braden Christoffer tied things up for Bakersfield at the 14:43 mark of the third.

The Condors will continue their road trip Saturday with a 5 p.m. game at Chicago.
