Seniors (62 or better): $9

Active and retired military with ID: Free

Monday-Thursday: 3 to 10 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 22: 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 29: 3 to 11 p.m.

Each Saturday: Noon to 11 p.m.

Each Sunday: Noon to 10 p.m.

Everyday specials

Free admission for active and retired military: Visitors with military IDs receive free admission to the fair for its 12-day run. Parking is $10. (Family members not included.)

Free admission for young readers: Qualifying students will receive a free ticket through KC's Reading Round-Up. The program will see some 30,000 kids participating.

Senior discount: Seniors 62 or better receive $3 off the regular price admission, making senior admission $9.

Children 5 and under: Admission is free every day.

Advance tickets and wristbands

Advance tickets and wristband vouchers are available online at You can also buy them at Vallarta Supermarkets. Must pay with cash. Admission tickets are $10 for adults and $4 for children ages 6-12. Discount carnival wristbands are $28. They can be purchased through Sept. 19.

Special days

Friday, Sept. 22, GEMCare presents Senior Day: The program begins at 9 a.m. Free admission and parking is offered to seniors 62 and better until 4 p.m.

Monday, Sept. 25, Kern Medical presents Marvelous Monday: $5 admission for all until 9 p.m.. Ages 5 and under free.

Tuesday, Sept. 26, Kern County Fire Department presents Feed the Need: Free admission from 3 to 9 p.m. is offered with the donation of four cans of non-perishable food per person. Age 5 and under free. 

Wednesday, Sept. 27, Wild Wednesday: Half-price discount vouchers are available at local Les Schwab Tires while supplies last.

Thursday, Sept. 28, Kids Days: Children 12 and under are admitted free.
