The local big news of the day is that the bank has seized Rep. David Valadao's family's dairy farm. Some will look at this with joy and others with sorrow as another family farm is gone.
Reports do not state the number of dairy cattle involved, only that the bank will sell them and the farm's equipment. They are going to sell to who? If you drive up to Hanford you will pass five dairies which have shut down in the last three months. Hundreds of dairy cattle are gone, as are the hay feed storage and even the manure piles. Have they been sold to other dairies, or are they on our tables?
Rep. Valadao has always been listed as one of the poorest members of Congress; unfortunately, this is sure to make him the champion.
