Let me see if I have this correct. Regarding Tatyana Hargrove, Bakersfield Police Chief Lyle Martin has formally apologized for her arrest and the Kern County District Attorney's office has declined to prosecute the case.
But some people just can't contain their racist, hateful rantings (" Let's all sue her," Sept. 3). This young woman was bitten by a police dog; a letter containing a cowardly joke about dog-treat breath mints is about as ignorant as anything I can imagine. I certainly hope The Californian was just trying to give the writer a chance to show how ugly and uncalled for his remarks were. I can't be the only one who thinks so.
