Attorneys postponed the arraignment of two men arrested this week in connection with a deadly stabbing outside of a Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony show Sunday evening at the Fox Theater.

Those suspects, Efrain Ugues, 32, and Jesse Reyes, 33, are scheduled to be charged next week at Kern County Superior Court with murder, conspiracy and participation in a criminal street gang, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.

They’re suspected of repeatedly stabbing 19-year-old Kasey Villegas.

But more suspects could be on the loose, Supervising Deputy District Attorney Cynthia Zimmer said outside of court Wednesday.

“There have been two assailants arrested so far and BPD is still working on ascertaining the identity of the other persons involved,” Zimmer said, declining to state how many more suspects there could be.

Outside of the courthouse Wednesday, family and friends attending the arraignment for Ugues and Reyes were involved in a dispute, leading to several BPD officers escorting a group of them to their cars.

Ugues was arrested Monday evening at his home on the 2900 block of Lake Street, and Reyes was arrested Tuesday at his home on the 500 block of Niles Street, police officials said.

Police responded to the downtown concert venue just before 11 p.m. after receiving reports of a large fight that broke out outside the theater.

BPD officials said that both Ugues and Villegas had attended the hip-hop concert prior to the incident — something Fox Theater officials said they had not yet confirmed Tuesday.

Vikki Peterson, first vice president of the Fox Foundation Executive Board, said Tuesday that all concert attendees were screened by metal detectors, and that those involved in the fatal stabbing could not have brought weapons into the theater undetected.

Both Ugues and Reyes are scheduled to be formally charged in court Feb. 28. No bail has been set.

Another thing I forget to mention. If it's supposedly gang related why would you post any addresses. Somebody just lost a love one. Do you not think they want vengeance in blood. JS

[sad] First I want to start off by saying I'm sorry for your lost and I hope you receive justice but from the guilty person. Not by 3 innocent guys. They only guilty of hitting the victim and his friends with their fists not with a blade. These 3 guys tried to avoid the situation but the victim wouldn't let them go. IDK why the girlfriend don't say the truth. She was with him when he flowed them to the car and wouldn't let them leave not once but twice. She crying, begging him to stop but he ignored her crys. Yeah they may fought with the guy and his friends but they didn't stab him. He was the aggressor. Not that it makes it okay for him to lose his life over. But the 3 guys on trial are innocent of taking his life. Out of the 1000 people that were there I know somebody had to see or record what happened outside of the fox. Please come forward.
