Air Supply will perform Sept. 27 at the Kern County Fair.

Today is Feed the Need: Donate four or more non-expired canned food items and get one free admission from 3 to 9 p.m.

Hours: 3 to 10 p.m. Carnival hours are 3 p.m. to closing.

Prices: Adults are $12, seniors (62 and better) are $9, children (6-12) are $5, children (5 and under) are free, active and retired military members are free with military ID. Donate four or more non-expired canned food items and get one free admission. Parking is $10. Visa and Mastercard are accepted at all admission gates.


Air Supply, free concert at 8 p.m.: One of the most recognized bands from the 1980s is making its way to the Budweiser stage. Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock, the masterminds behind this rock duo, delivered some of the most heart-wrenching love songs on stages across the world. Some of their most popular songs include "Making Love Out of Nothing At All," "All Out of Love," "Even the Nights are Better" and "Every Woman in the World." Air Supply makes the perfect mid-week date for all the couples at the fair.

Colorful goldfish bowls await at a game both in the carnival area. Just add and win goldfish.

Satisfy your cheese craving: If you find yourself hungry for cheesy foods, Joe's Cheese Works is a concession stand to visit. The booth on Main Street has everything from cheese pizza by the slice, to cheese on a stick, cheese fries, nachos and grilled cheese sandwiches.

Meet exotic creatures: Face your fears when it comes to snakes and spiders at the Creature Feature Show. The show, which features arthropods and amphibians from around the world, will take place at 5 and 7:30 p.m. at the KC Loop.

Find out who wins the potato contest: It's time to see who has the tastiest potato salad in the county. Entries will be judged on taste, texture and appearance, with the first-place winner taking home $100.

Wave and swing side to side: The Wave Swinger ride was imported from Germany, bringing some international fun to the Kern County Fair. It lifts riders slowly from the platform and tilts one way and another to bring a whole lot of thrills.

Play a carnival game: This year's carnival brings plenty of classics to the fair. See if you can take home a prize at the bottle ring toss, dart balloon pop and ring the bell game.
