The thing that surprised me was, unlike their usual practice of demolishing buildings that are structurally failing rat traps that need to go to the landfill, this one looked like a well maintained house. Looking at Google Maps street view images, It appeared to have received prior upgrades like thermally efficient windows but had as its only fault of being too small for the family.

I recall the last time EM came to Kern County a few years ago where they replaced a dilapidated shack in Greenfield with a good house. Watching the episode on TV I recall the host referring Bakersfield as the "…tiny town of Bakersfield" I'm sure he meant Greenfield since as the 51st largest city in the nation, "tiny" doesn't exactly fit.

Anyway I so wish well the family that just received this attractive new house and that they act as good stewards of their property.

Seems like a worthy cause, but the Extreme makeover people aren’t very nice. Can’t wait to drive into my driveway without arguing with security and dodging the golf cart people.

Keep in mind they had a short time window to get things done.
