Tech catalyst Bitwise Industries has provided images of what its new Bakersfield operations will look like. The Fresno company recently purchased two buildings near the corner of 18th and H streets downtown. The company plans to overhaul the buildings and use them for a coworking office space and a computer coding academy, similar to what it has done at its headquarters in downtown Fresno. One of the Bakersfield structures, the Turk's building at 1701 18th St., is expected to open in the second quarter of 2020. Its other acquisition is the former Vincent's building across the street from the Merle Haggard U.S. Post Office. Redevelopment at the Vincent's building will open after work is complete at the Turk's building.
