A man was shot and killed during an armed robbery in east Bakersfield on Wednesday evening, according to a Kern County Sheriff’s Office news release.

KCSO deputies responded to an armed robbery at N & H Market, 1230 Pearl Street, at 5:50 p.m. They located a man in the parking lot who was shot in the upper body, according to the news release. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies learned the person was shot when three armed suspects entered the store and demanded money from an employee.

I see the article had been edited to take out the statement that 2 people died. As frequently happens, whoever wrote it doesn't check facts and just makes stuff up. information.

What a sad commentary for the state of law in America today. Reminds me when I was a mayor of a major Midwest town back in days gone by. Yup. Yup. Yup. Things got nastier than a dirt devil in an open sewer. I mean gnarly. So I fired everyone and moved to Bako. Reserving judgement.
