The sentencing of Jonathan Hearn, who admitted to helping his lover plot her husband's murder, and then carrying it out, was postponed Thursday.

Hearn's sentencing hearing, in which he's set to receive 25 years and four months in prison, was postponed to Nov. 3, the same day Sabrina Limon, his former lover, is set for sentencing. She was convicted earlier this month of murder and other crimes in her husband's death.

Thursday's hearing was postponed so the family of shooting victim Robert Limon must make only one trip from outside the county to Bakersfield, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

Sabrina Limon faces a life sentence.

According to prosecutors, she conspired with Hearn, a former Redlands firefighter, in the 2014 killing of her husband so they could be together and eventually marry. The two had been carrying on an affair for years.

The jury found true allegations that Sabrina Limon told Hearn how to get to her husband's Tehachapi workplace and what hours he was schedule to work the day of the killing. The jury also found true charges she used a "burner" phone to communicate with Hearn in an effort to avoid detection by law enforcement.

Defense attorney Richard Terry had argued Hearn acted alone and Sabrina Limon had no knowledge of his plan to kill her husband.

Hearn testified at Limon's trial as part of a plea agreement in which prosecutors dismissed a murder charge and instead allowed him to enter no contest pleas to voluntary manslaughter, among other charges.

In addition to Hearn's testimony, prosecutor Eric Smith presented dozens of text messages and wiretapped phone calls between Hearn and Sabrina Limon for the jury. In them, the couple professes their love for each other and discusses details of the investigation, including what she should tell the lead investigator.

It's not clear if Limon and Hearn will appear in the same courtroom on the day of their respective sentencings.
