Three people were injured in a hit-and-run collision in East Bakersfield on Friday.

The Bakersfield Police Department said that at around 10:10 p.m., officers responded to a collision in the 1200 block of E. Truxtun Avenue. When officers arrived, they found that three pedestrians who had been walking out of a crosswalk had been hit by a white 2000 Nissan Frontier King Cab pickup truck, after which the truck fled the scene.

The vehicle was last seen heading westbound on Truxtun, police said. It had damage on the front and the right front passenger side.

Two of the pedestrians sustained major injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment. As of Saturday, they were in critical condition, according to BPD. The third pedestrian had minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The department is asking anyone with information on the vehicle or its whereabouts to call 327-7111.
