A 33-year-old man was arrested for attempted murder after holding his mother and two adult sisters captive at a southwest Bakersfield home Saturday night and attacking them with a hammer and knife, Bakersfield Police Department officials said.

The suspect, Victor Tadros, allegedly held his three family members against their will at a home on 10820 Vista Del Rancho Drive, then bludgeoned one of his sisters and mother in the head with a hammer. He also stabbed the same sister in the head several times, according to a BPD news release.

As one of his sisters fled to call 911, Tadros "physically assaulted her, causing severe injuries," according to the news release.

All three victims were transported to a local hospital, where they are listed in stable condition and expected to survive.

Tadros was arrested and booked into Kern County Jail for numerous violations, including attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse and false imprisonment.
