Authorities have arrested a 17-year-old male in connection with the killing of a man whose body was found in Arvin last month.

Police said the teen, whose name was not released, was arrested Wednesday in the 500 block of Olsen Street in Arvin on suspicion of murder and gang participation, among other offenses.

Also, two search warrants related to the killing resulted in 16 guns, and other evidence, being seized.

The teen is accused of killing 22-year-old Jose Joel Salazar, whose body was found Jan. 6 on Rockpile Road north of East Bear Mountain Boulevard. Salazar died from gunshot wounds, the coroner's office said.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call the Arvin Police Department at 854-5583.
