Big House, the Bakersfield-bred band known for its “soul country” brand of country-flavored rhythm & rock, is performing at the Fox Theater on Saturday. Band leader and lead singer-guitarist Monty Byrom says headlining Bakersfield's historic downtown theater has always been on his bucket list, and he's looking forward to this show, which, if successful, could be expanded to other Fox Theaters in California. Last Saturday, the band got together in Byrom's living room for a rehearsal. And if it was any indication of how it's going to sound this weekend ... wow!

Last time he was in the paper, he claimed he was working with Jerry Garcia’s daughter. Well, he wasn’t. But, he claimed he was. Monte is a great singer, guitarist, and songwriter. However, he engages in creative truth management.
