Bakersfield College Southwest opened its new, temporary campus to students this week, part of an ongoing effort to ratchet up Kern County's dismal educational attainment level.  The modest arrangement of portable buildings, situated just southwest of the CSUB campus, is near the corner of Scarlet Oak and Camino Media. BC Dean of Instruction Jessica Wojtysiak spoke to The Californian on what makes BC Southwest so important to the overall picture. The official completion of the University Office Center, which will house the BCSW campus, is scheduled for early 2021.
