Seventy-six years after he was killed in combat and his remains were later lost, Marine Pfc. Joseph Robert Livermore came home to Bakersfield on Thursday. After arriving at LAX just before 7 a.m., Livermore was escorted to Bakersfield by Los Angeles and then Bakersfield Patriot Riders. A procession follows through Bakersfield city streets, past Livermore’s old home and his high school, East Bakersfield High. It ended at Union Cemetery.
