Residents of one of Bakersfield's sister cities, Saint Jean de Luz in France, were in town for nearly a week taking in the sights, sounds and scenes from the Central Valley. The group did a variety of activities — from visiting Bakersfield City Hall and the police department, to CALM and the Panorama Bluffs, to Murray Family Farms and the Bakersfield College football game. After going to Universal Studios on Tuesday, the students returned to Bakersfield on Wednesday and enjoyed lunch and games at The BLVD and dinner that evening at Wool Growers. They return to Los Angeles on Thursday to begin their trip home. The visitors included of 17 students, ages 13 and 14, from Sainte Marie, a private middle school in Saint Jean de Luz. They were accompanied by about five school chaperones.
