About 1,000 people took part in a prom for people with special needs Friday night in Bakersfield at the Crossroads Christian Fellowship on Fairfax Road in conjunction with a worldwide event headed by the Tim Tebow Foundation. Night to Shine celebrated 225 local people with special needs, ages 14 and older, with a red carpet entrance, dinner and games. In addition, about 300 parents attended and were treated to dinner and massages and manicures, and about 500 volunteers made it all possible. More than 650 churches participated worldwide, according to the Tim Tebow Foundation.
