Kern Behavioral Health and Recovery Services has teamed up with local art group Creative Crossing to transform parts of the Oleander neighborhood into chalk masterpieces for Mental Health Awareness Month. On Thursday, artists with Creative Crossings designed and created 16 separate chalk murals, each centered around key mental health issues. Additionally, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, families are invited to the neighborhood to see how many pieces they can find and admire in a scavenger hunt with social distancing recommendations in place. The scavenger hunt route is available at https://www.kernbhrs.org/mentalhealthmonth.
