The 72nd Camellia Society of Kern County show began its annual two-day run at The Bakersfield Racquet Club on Saturday. Most of the show entrants are local, organizers said, but some come from out of town to compete against other enthusiasts in a number of categories. The show also attracts a crowd of admirers who come to look at the hundreds of flowers on display. It continues Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 1660 Pine St. Admission is free.
