A Golden Empire Transit bus was stuffed with canned food and bottled water rather than passengers Friday for a good cause. Community Action Partnership of Kern and GET teamed up for a CAPK Stuff the Bus food drive to help Kern County families in need. Community members dropped off non-perishable food items from 4:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Valley Plaza Mall, near the former Sears location. Volunteers also gave free haircuts to anyone in need of a trim.
