The hot weather has officially arrived Bakersfield, and the city swimming pools have opened just in time. Temperatures hit triple digits earlier this week and figure to climb entering next week. Sunday's high is 103 degrees, followed by Monday and Tuesday highs of 106. If you're looking to beat the heat, consider taking a dip at one of the city pools — McMurtrey Aquatic Center (located at 1325 Q St.), Jefferson Pool (801 Bernard St.), Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Pool (1000 South Owens St.) or Silver Creek Pool (7011 Harris Road).
