PHOTO GALLERY: Creativity on display at Via Arte

Artists from near and far, and old and young, displayed their creativity Saturday at the Via Arte Italian Street Painting Festival.

And the opportunity to see their beautiful creations continues through 8 p.m. Sunday, as artists take chalk to asphalt at The Marketplace, 9000 Ming Ave.

About 75 professional artists are taking part, working on 4-by-6-foot, 7-by-7-foot or 8-by-12-foot squares.

Students from 12 high schools are participating, each working on a 7-by-7-foot square.

And Via Bambino is an area where children (and the young at heart) can create their own work on a 2-by-2-foot square. Cost is $20 and includes a box of chalk.
