This is America

Bakersfield siblings Devin Penn, far left, and Trinity Penn, second from right, perform in Childish Gambino's "This is America" music video.

Most can agree the dancing in Childish Gambino's "This is America" music video is incredible. And what makes the dancing even more amazing is that Devin and Trinity Penn, two local dancers, star in the video. To say they're talented would be an understatement.

Now, we can try to emulate their dance moves since the video's choreographer, Sherrie Silver, released a "This is America" dance tutorial.

She said she would only release the tutorial if the video reached 100 million views, and it did.

"Start stretching guys! Dance tutorial coming once we hit 100 million," Silver wrote on Instagram.

Silver, originally from Rwanda, has performed or choreographed in about 30 countries, according to The Fader. Silver explained to Glamour that Glover's team contacted her after seeing some of her videos, and was especially interested in her work with children.

"I basically wanted to bring my authentic style from different parts of Africa—not just my country—because I felt that it was very important to represent a lot of the continent," she said of her choreography for the video. "With the song being called 'This is America,' I wanted to make sure that there were some American references as well. That’s why you got dances in there like the Shoot and the Reverse and the Nene. And, obviously, Donald added his own style of movement."
