The Valley Fever Comedy Festival will feature a funny foursome of top comics at the Fox Theater on Friday.
Co-headlined by comedians Alex Reymundo and Corey Holcomb, the event also features Aida Rodriguez and Antoine Young.
Reymundo’s extensive resume runs from stage to screen. He emerged as one of “The Original Latin Kings of Comedy” alongside Paul Rodriguez, Richard “Cheech” Marin, George Lopez and Joey Medina, appearing in a best-selling 2002 comedy film of the same name.
Following the success of that concert film, Reymundo has gone on to headline a number of stand-up specials on Showtime and Comedy Central and has toured with blue-collar comedian Ron White. His voice has been heard in the animated Disney film “Cars.”
Holcomb’s film and television credits include “Think Like a Man Too” with Kevin Hart, “The Wedding Ringer,” MTV2’s “Wild ‘N Out,” NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” “The Tonight Show,” BET’s “Comic View” and Fox’s “Mad TV,” to name a few. Holcomb can currently be seen in the role of Boonie on the Adult Swim TV series “Black Jesus.”
NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” finalist Aida Rodriguez began her career in modeling before leaving the catwalk for the comedy stage. A regular on Comedy Central’s “The Nightly Show,” Nickelodeon, and the NuVo network, Rodriguez can be seen in the upcoming film “The Comedian,” starring Robert De Niro.
Opening funnyman Antoine Young has been slow burning his name as a talent to watch on the stand-up circuit. The show will be hosted by Bakersfield comedian Ernesto Gomez.
According to the show’s promoters, a portion of the evening’s proceeds will go to benefit local valley fever awareness associations. August is Valley Fever Awareness Month in California.
