The Outlets at Tejon is teaming up with Southland car club with Stockish Whipz for Unity of the Community, a cruise-in car show coming Sept. 18 to the shopping complex.
"We are looking forward to bringing car shows back to Kern County," Becca Bland, marketing director for the Outlets at Tejon, said in a news release. "Our hope is to bring people together with things we can all unite around — food, shopping, supporting our community, and of course, incredible cars!"
This event, being held in the south parking lot near the solar panels, will bring together car enthusiasts from a variety of cities and car clubs to raise funds for Kern County charity League of Dreams.
Stockish Whipz describes itself as a group of "highly motivated and active car enthusiasts" who own a variety of different car models. Members come from Los Angeles, Antelope Valley and the Inland Empire.
Expect a showcase of classics, hot rods and muscle cars vying for top honors. Those who want to enter their vehicle in the show can register on Eventbrite for $20 (plus fees).
Attendees can enjoy snacks or meals from a variety of food vendors such as Pita Paradise, Gonzales Tacos, Ricositas Sweets and Get it Twisted, which sells spiral-cut potatoes dressed with your choice of toppings.
Also expect "revved-up entertainment," music, vendors, awards, raffles and more at the family-friendly event.
Those shopping at the outlets that day can sign up for the Travel Tejon passport promotion at guest services for chances to win with the purchase of any food, fuel, shopping or hotel stays at the Oasis at Tejon. Visit tejonoutlets.com/travel-tejon for prize details and more information.
Free to attend, the car show will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Outlets at Tejon, 5701 Outlets at Tejon Parkway in Arvin. Admission is free.
