We're all for when restaurants give back to the community and aim to highlight their efforts. Here's what's coming up.

On Tuesday, Round Table Pizza is holding "A Day For California" fundraiser. The chain teamed with The California Fire Foundation's SAVE (Supplying Aid to Victims of Emergency) program, which provides direct assistance from firefighters to those who've lost homes in fire or disaster through gift cards.

For the event, Round Table aims to raise $100,000 on Tuesday by portioning off 15 percent of the day's sales and combining that with additional customer donations.

"Round Table Pizza is proud to call California home and our hearts are hurting for our customers, franchisees and team members in areas devastated by the fires in both the Northern and Southern regions of the state," said Geoff Goodman, executive vice president of Round Table Pizza, in a news release. "On Dec. 11, we will be serving not only a great meal, but hope to those who truly need it most this holiday season. Please join us."

"Thousands of our fellow Californians were devastated by the destructive and deadly wildfires," said Brian K. Rice, chair of the California Fire Foundation, said in the release. "Through the SAVE program, firefighters are offering a hand up to those who lost their homes. Round Table's generosity will help to rebuild the lives of those who've lost so much, and we are grateful for their support."

The fundraiser is good on dine-in, delivery and take-out orders made Tuesday. For more information, visit roundtablepizza.com or follow Round Table Pizza's social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Round Table is located at 4200 Gosford Road, Suite 101.

Meanwhile Flame Broiler Bakersfield is hoping to encourage kind-hearted diners to support another good cause with its Toys For Tots effort.

From Dec. 12 to 14, customers who bring in a new, unwrapped toy of a minimum $10 value will receive a free regular bowl. The fast-service restaurant offers custom rice bowls with your choice of white or brown rice, veggies, and protein (beef, chicken or tofu).

Hurt by the closure of Toys R Us stores, which was a major donor and Toys for Tots partner, the local campaign is struggling for donations this year and is 16,000 toys short of its local goal, according to a news release.

Toys for Tots donations may be dropped off at any of the six Flame Broiler locations: 5600 California Ave., Suite B; 2630 Mount Vernon Ave, Suite 200; 3505 Coffee Road, Suite B; 4701 White Lane, Suites D and E; 8200 Stockdale Highway, Suite K-3; 12918 Brimhall Road, Suite 200.

Fresco Mexican Grill has also teamed up with the local Toys for Tots effort, designating its restaurants as drop-off sites. Those who donate a new, unwrapped gift at either 1431 California Ave. or 2402 Columbus St. by Dec. 20 will also receive a free traditional burrito as a token of Fresco's appreciation.
