Chef's Choice Noodle Bar has a nice new partnership going with downtown neighbor Tlo Wines Tasting Room. Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is honoring the 94th birthday of Freddy Simon, its co-founder, namesake and decorated World War II veteran with 94-cent frozen custard through Sunday.

Guests can purchase a 94-cent single scoop of the the chain's signature chocolate or vanilla frozen custard served in either a traditional cake cone or a dish.

Fry fun

How do you make Wienerschnitzel's chili cheese fries better? Take them on a culinary U.S. adventure. Starting Monday, the world's biggest hot dog chain will add three new, regional-inspired options to its chili cheese fry menu. In honor of San Antonio, the Tex-Mex chili cheese fries include green chili aioli, diced onions, diced tomatoes and jalapeno slices. It's not pizza that comes from New York's Little Italy but the Italian chili cheese fries, topped with tomatoes, onions and basil pesto aioli. And the Thousand Island chili cheese fries have a West Coast flare with the dressing and grilled onions.

Chinese New Year continues

At P.F. Chang's, the celebration of the Chinese New Year continues with a trio of Year of the Pig cocktails, being served now through March 25.

The Year of the Pig features Monkey Shoulder whisky, five-spice syrup, fresh lemon juice, orange juice and bitters, and is garnished with an orange peel, served in a bacon and sugar-rimmed glass. The Pink Pig Spritz combines Hendrick's gin and Cointreau liqueur with blood orange purée, pomegranate juice and Villa Sandi Prosecco, served in a sugar-rimmed glass. That Monkey Shoulder spirit is highlighted in the Happier Than a Pig cocktail, which also includes Aperol, almond syrup, fresh pineapple and lime juice, with an edible art garnish pig.

This spring festival extends to the menu with recommended lucky dishes including Chang's chicken lettuce wraps (symbolizing rising fortune), Cecelia's dumplings or oolong Chilean sea bass(prosperity), long life noodles and prawns (longevity) and kung pao chicken (spicy to banish evil).
