THE DISH: A spooktacular grand opening set for So-Cal Tamal

It's Halloween time and we're ready to snag some deals and special events before the witching hour strikes.

Promising all treats and no tricks is So-Cal Tamal and Churro Co., which will hold a grand opening today for its brick-and-mortar location on Pacheco Road.

The local business, whose food truck has made a name for itself in the southwest for its L.A.-style street food, has set down roots at this new spot with a drive-thru.

It will offer a free Hot Cheetos burrito (one per person) during the event. The menu also highlights its Tijuana dogs and tacos, la papa guapa (loaded baked potato) and specialty coffees in flavors such as mazapan, chocolate abuelita, horchata and caramel.

The event, running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., also will have a car meet with trunk-or-treat and music courtesy of Hot 94.1.

So-Cal Tamal is located at 3401 Pacheco Road. Visit socaltamal.com, facebook.com/socaltamal or @socaltamal on Instagram for more information.
