Just two days before the concert, Elton John has postponed his sold-out show scheduled for Saturday at Rabobank Arena for undisclosed medical reasons, according to management at Rabobank Arena.

Tickets will be good for the show's new date, set for April 22. Rabobank management is directing fans who want refunds to report to the box office, 1001 Truxtun Ave., by April 3.

John performed as scheduled Thursday night at Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The Oil City News of Casper, Wyo., called John's sold-out concert in that city Wednesday a triumph, noting the renowned showman wowed fans with energetic renditions of hits like "Bennie and the Jets," "Rocket Man" and "Crocodile Rock," complete with an encore.

John, who will be 70 this month, is no stranger to Bakersfield. The legendary English singer-songwriter first performed here in 1999, seven months after the opening of the city-owned arena, then called Centennial Garden. He followed that show with others in 2003 and 2008, all at the 10,000-seat arena.
