Bakersfield High School Government Teacher Jeremy Adams wants to make sure BHS is known as much for academics as it is for athletics. Each year he
coordinates the Earl Warren Cup Academic Competition, which includes comments and questions videotaped by national leaders. While he’s been able to secure various congressional leaders, he’s hoping to get a sitting president to tape a message for the students one year. Adams was interviewed by C-SPAN for the special on Bakersfield that aired this past weekend.

Reporter John Cox, still reeling from his tour of the Bakersfield Dreyer’s ice cream plant, came in to demonstrate the official way to eat a Drumstick ice cream cone -- according to Dreyer’s. It was messy, and Scott called shenanigans on the whole deal. "Everything about your system is stupid," Scott told John Cox. Tehachapi native and Bakersfield Hooters employee Brittany Ann Payne recently traveled to Las Vegas to compete at the 2013 Hooters International Swimsuit Pageant. She’ll be featured in an upcoming Hooters Calendar.
