Two Tehachapi athletes signed letters of intent on campus during Wednesday's National Signing Day.

Lauren Nousch, a BVarsity Volleyball All-Area second team selection, signed with Missouri Valley College while softball player Anabelle Carroll will head to Midland (Neb.) University.

“We have collectively as coaches watched her confidence every year increase," former Tehachapi volleyball coach Sheri Dees said of Nousch. “We have watched her grow as a player, and she has blossomed into a beautiful young lady, not just outside but inside as well.”

Tehachapi softball coach Joan Cooper said with Carroll she, “couldn’t have asked for a more dedicated, responsible and talented athlete.”

The Independence girls soccer team wrapped up a second consecutive undefeated South Yosemite League record on Tuesday night. Two seniors that have led the way for the Falcons during the past two years signed letters of intent on Wednesday. Mia Ontiveros, who has recorded 38 goals in 16 games for the Falcons according to MaxPreps, signed with Humboldt State. Monica Jimenez signed with Newberry (S.C.) College.

East High senior Luna Garcia also signed a letter of intent. The 2016-17 BVarsity All-Area first team selection as a junior will play at Metropolitan State in Denver.
