North High has let go of boys basketball coach Matt Morin one week into the season on Monday afternoon.

“We decided to make a change. Administration wanted to go in another direction,” North athletic director Brian Huens said.

Morin, who previously served as an assistant at Garces, was in his third year at North. He had a 28-30 overall record at the school, including a 2-3 start to the 2017-18 season. His first year at North, the Stars went 18-10.

Junior varsity coach Casey Walker will coach against West on Monday night. No further decision has been made for a replacement for Morin on an interim basis, according to Huens.

North also hosts the Lloyd Williams/ KSFCU Shootout beginning on Wednesday.
