Christian Johnson will be the next head football coach at Mira Monte.

This will be the first head coaching job for the 27-year-old Johnson, who played high school football at Centennial before playing collegiately at the University of New Mexico.

Johnson spent the last three years as an assistant coach at Ridgeview, where he was special teams coordinator and running backs coach. He also was previously a high school assistant coach in New Mexico and Colorado.

Mira Monte went 0-9 last season under head coach David Coldiron and are 4-35 over the past four years.

"I'm very excited about the opportunity at Mira Monte," Johnson said. "I'm looking forward to working with the kids and giving them the tools for taking the next step. It's a great opportunity to coach and work in the classroom as well. I also would like to thank the folks at Ridgeview for the last three years and the wonderful experience they provided me."
