The Bakersfield College baseball scored five runs in the seventh inning to overcome a two-run deficit and beat West Los Angeles College 5-2 at Gerry Collis Field on Tuesday.

Frankie Villasenor pitched three scoreless innings of relief to earn his first win of the season.

BC starting pitcher Lane Cowan allowed one earned run on seven hits and three walks in six innings on the mound.

The 6-foot-3 freshman right-hander from Centennial High School had six strikeouts.

The Renegades offensive attack had eights hits including an RBI triple by Joe Pineda that spurred BC’s seventh-inning scoring outburst. 

BC cleanup hitter Kyle Willman went 2 for 3 with a walk and a run scored.

“We pitched well and it kept us in the game long enough to do something offensively,” BC coach Tim Painton said.
