Former hockey tough guy Sasha Lakovic, who played part of one season for the Condors, died on Wednesday, according to various reports.

Lakovic, 45, had been diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer last year.

Lacovic spent most of the 2001-02 season with the Condors near the end of his career and amassed 147 penalty minutes in just 30 games. He also had 18 points.

The East Vancouver, British Columbia native played 37 games (118 penalty minutes) in the NHL and played for 15 minor league teams during a 12-year career. He had 416 penalty minutes in 49 games for the Las Vegas Thunder of the IHL in the 1995-96 season.

Lakovic also had a role in the movie Miracle, playing Russian player Boris Mikailov.

He was married with four children.
