Cal State Bakersfield moved into second place in the Western Athletic Conference volleyball standings Thursday with a victory over the University of Texas at Rio Grand Valley at the Icardo Center.

Aleksand Djordjevic had 15 kills and 12 digs as the Runners won 25-22, 22-25, 25-15, 20-25, 15-13.

Sydney Haynes and Mattison Degarmo each added 12 kills as CSUB improved to 16-12, 9-4 WAC. UTRGA vis 15-11, 9-4.

Emily Lopes paced the Runners with 21 digs while Sidney Wicks led the team with 37 assists.

The Runners wind up their regular season on Saturday by hosting WAC champion New Mexico (20-7, 11-2) at noon.
