Cal State Bakersfield (5-9, 1-2 Pac-12) picked up its first conference win with a 28-15 victory over Cal Poly (0-6, 0-2) in the Icardo Center on Wednesday night. The Roadrunners snapped a two-match losing streak with the win.

In one of the most notable matches of the night, CSUB’s Matt Williams pinned Cal Poly’s Tom Lane at 6:03. Williams is ranked No. 14 at 197 pounds and Lane is ranked No. 23.

Colton Schilling, Cal Poly’s 141-pound wrestler that’s ranked No. 31, came out on top against Russell Rohlfing of CSUB. Rohlfing is ranked No. 25 but was pinned by Schilling at 2:36.

Roadrunner Sean Nickell continued his impressive season, defeating Yoshito Funakoshi by major decision. Nickell is ranked No. 28 at 133 pounds.

Coleman Hammond — No. 16 at 157 pounds — Sergio Mendez, Lorenzo De La Riva and Bryan Battisto were the other victorious Roadrunners.

CSUB will head on the road to take on Cal Baptist on Feb. 9 at 7 p.m.
