After trailing 1-0 in the first half, Cal State Bakersfield (6-9-1, 1-2-1 WAC) exploded for six unanswered goals to rout Chicago State (1-16-0, 0-4-0 WAC) on Sunday, 6-1.

Despite taking 10 shots on goal in the first half, the Runners fell behind in the 21st minute when Chicago State’s Jensyn Stanberry beat CSUB keeper Jordan Bertram.

The Runners tied the game in the 51st minute when Aryana Harvey streaked to the far post and sent a shot past Cougars’ keeper Audra Wisehart.

CSUB took the lead in the 69th minute when Aminah Settles stole the ball from Wisehart and dinked a shot off the post for the 20th goal of her career.

The Runners added goals from Alexa Orrante, Sophie Freeman, Sabrina Delgado and Eszter Toth to close out the scoring.

Next up for CSUB is a road game Friday against Seattle.
