The Cal State Bakersfield women’s basketball team went back and forth with Boise State, but a strong fourth quarter was enough to lift the Roadrunners to a 65-59 road victory on Wednesday night.
Alexxus Gilbert led the way for CSUB (6-6) with 17 points and 5 rebounds as the team shot 43 percent from the field.
Aja Williams added 15 points, Jasmine Johnson had 10 points and Jasmyne Bartee had six points and collected nine rebounds.
In a game that featured 18 lead changes and 14 ties, the Roadrunners trailed by two at the half and as many as five in the third quarter.
CSUB would also have their own five point lead in the fourth quarter, which the Broncos (5-5) erased before taking the lead for good on a layup by Johnson with 1:12 left in the game.
The Roadrunners will take a break for Christmas and will return to the court on Dec. 29 at Cal Poly, which is CSUB’s final road game of their non-conference schedule.
The game tips off at 7 p.m.
