Cal State Bakersfield (6-7) came up empty on its last three possessions of the game and fell to Cal Poly (6-6), 59-57, on the road on Friday night.

Aja Williams missed two jump shots in the final minute that would have given the Roadrunners the lead. Their last possession, with three seconds left, ended when center Jazmyne Bartee caught a somewhat wild inbound pass while her foot was on the out of bounds line.

CSUB had its three-game winning streak snapped. Cal Poly won for just the second time in its last five games.

Cal Poly’s Dynn Leaupepe was the leading scorer in the game with 25 points — more than double anyone else. CSUB shot a more efficient 35.2 percent than Cal Poly’s 29.7, but the Mustangs grabbed 24 offensive rebounds and made eight 3-pointers to make up for it.
