The second day of the season didn’t go much better than the first for Cal State Bakersfield softball. The Roadrunners (0-4) lost 7-4 to Campbell and 10-2 to San Diego on Saturday at the University of San Diego Tournament.

CSUB pitcher Summer Evans threw the first two innings of the first game, giving up four hits and four runs — none earned. She threw 2 1/3 to start the second game, surrendering seven runs — six earned — on eight hits allowed.

The Roadrunners were outhit 25-10 on the day and committed seven errors across the two games. The second game was cut short because of the NCAA mercy rule. Eight of San Diego’s 10 runs came in the third inning.
