The Cal State Bakersfield volleyball team (12-10, 5-2 WAC) lost on the road in four sets to University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (12-8, 6-1 WAC).

UTRGV is now 8-0 on its home court.

The Runners trailed 8-7 early in the first set, before UTRGV went on a 12-4 run to take control of the set and eventually win 25-15.

In the second set, the teams were tied at 10 before UTRGV went on a 15-2 run to finish the game and win 25-12.

UTRGV jumped out to a 13-9 lead in the third set, before the Runners tied it at 13.

UTRGV went on a 8-4 run to take a 21-17 lead, but the Runners battled back to tie the third set at 21 and won it to force a fourth set.

UTRGV jumped out to a 7-1 lead to open the fourth set, but the Runners went on a 5-1 run to cut the lead to 8-6. UTRGV edged CSUB to win 25-20 and close out the match.

Haylee Roberts led the Runners with 13 kills.

Coming up: CSUB hosts the University of Missouri-Kansas City at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Icardo Center.
