Nick Ellis stopped a season-high 41 shots as the Condors snapped a six-game winless streak on Friday night in San Diego with a 4-1 victory over the Gulls.

The Condors host San Antonio tonight in the 19th annual Teddy Bear Toss game at Rabobank Arena.

Bakersfield (6-8-2) never trailed, racing out to a 3-0 lead after two periods in the first meeting between the teams this season.

Ryan Hamilton scored 12:34 into the first period, skating through a couple of flat-footed San Diego defenders before stuffing the puck past Reto Berra. Back-to-back power-play goal in the second extended the lead to 3-0. First, Kyle Platzer scored off a feed from Brad Malone at 8:50. Platzer drew a charging penalty right after scoring the goal, putting the Condors right back on the man advantabge. Josh Currie connected at 10:39 with Platzer and Malone getting assists.

San Diego’s Kallie Kossila scored a power-play goal 5:49 into the third to make it 3-1 and the Condors iced the game when Mitch Callahan got his first goal of the season into an empty net with 1:23 left.

Platzer has four points in six games since being recalled from the ECHL.
