The opening round of the Central Section boys soccer playoffs get under way Tuesday with five area teams hosting games.

In Division I, No. 3 South and No. 4 Ridgeview are both at home against No. 14 Clovis East and No. 13 Visalia-Golden West, respectively.

In D-III, No. 11 Highland and No. 6 Wasco faceoff in a matchup between two local programs. The game will be played at Wasco.

D-IV features three area games: No. 14 Delano at No. 3 Arvin; No. 11 Foothill at No. 6 McFarland; and No. 10 Tahachapi at No. 7 Shafter.

In D-V No. 14 Carruthers visits No. 3 Chavez, while in Division VI No. 9 Bakersfield Christian plays at No. 8 Frazier Mountain.

The opening round of the Central Section girls soccer championships is scheduled for Wednesday.
