Through two matches this season, Bakersfield College’s women’s tennis team (2-0) has given up just one point. The latest match was an 8-1 win over Fresno City College at home on Saturday.

The Renegades won all three doubles matches and five of the six singles matches.

BC’s No. 1 doubles team of Kayleen Sanchez and Paige Darstein trailed 3-2 early but rallied for an 8-5 win. In what BC head coach Nick Loudermilk called “the match of the day,” BC’s Brandi Borjon — who was the top golfer for BC in the fall — came back from dropping the first set, 6-1, to win her first collegiate singles match.
