The Bakersfield College women’s basketball team finished out the regular season with an 88-60 loss at College of the Canyons on Wednesday. BC ended the season at 10-15 overall and 4-4 in the Western State Conference’s South Division. A playoff bid is unlikely.

The Renegades finished the year third in the Western State-South. The other four teams, including first place Canyons (16-10, 7-0), all have one game remaining.

On Wednesday, BC shot 23.8 percent from the field and just 17.6 percent from 3-point. Canyons converted 40.2 percent of its shots and 34.5 percent from beyond the arc.

The Renegades were led by sophomore Octavia Croney, who scored 25 points. The next highest BC scorer was sophomore Angie Kroeger at 11. Kroeger had 16 rebounds and three assists.

BC trailed by just one point after the first quarter but was outscored 20-11 in the second quarter and 28-11 in the third.
